  • Endless Winter Screening

We will be screening Endless Winter on Friday April 6th at 10pm at Lento. This will be after all the First Friday Events. Get there around 10, enjoy some cheap beer and cheap snacks, and enjoy a 15 minute film. All with time afterwards to head out to the bars. Look forward to seeing you there.

  • Post Production

Figured it was time for an update for my oh so many blog readers.

The Documentary is coming along. I’ve been editing and editing and editing for the better part of a month now. The footage looks great and the film is almost done.

I got the Super-8 footage back from cinelab.com late last week. I’ve seen a wide variety in the quality of work that they do. With an untested camera using the auto exposure function, the footage looks pretty good. Obviously over-exposed on some shots, but Super-8 has such a great quality to it that I think audiences will forgive it.

I’ve been Sound Mixing for most of the afternoon. Man, I really am no bueno at this. But I think it’s working out. We got some great music from Luke’s roommate Chris, and a band from Chicago called Sissy Mena. They have a early to mid 90’s sound to them. It fits real well. Thanks to them for music.

I’ll be screening the film at RIT a week from tonight. Can’t believe that 20ish weeks are almost over. Crazy.

  • Adios Maine

We are leaving Maine in a little bit after a quick stop in Freeport to check out the L.L. Bean store. All in all the trip has been fun, but there has been little surfing. Yesterday the team went out for a little while. Alex was in and out because he had a meeting, Amelia got cold so she was only in for 45 minutes. Luke, however, braved the elements for about 2 hours, and had a snot covered moustache to prove it. The waves were nice and there were a ton of surfers out.

We had some great food at Duckfat. Drank some nice Maine beers, and were asleep before Tim Tebow could say his nightly novenas.

This morning it was a bitter 3 degrees out and no surf. Looks like we will be heading towards the lake to get the footage we need. Keep an eye out for more GoPro footage of surfing.

  • [Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Today was a little crazy. We checked the swell report last night. Looked like really nice waves at around 7 in the morning. Alex woke up and checked the swell report at 5am. They were saying waves over 10 feet. We all went back to bed.

Around noon we went to check out the waves coming in. Here is some footage that I shot on a GoPro camera. It is a little weird but you get the point.

The plan for the rest of the day is to take it easy and finish watching Young Guns. (Man, Emilio is pretty terrible in that flick.) Eat some dinner, get some shut eye, and wake up to catch the early boat off the island. From there we head to the Portland area. The waves are supposed to be real good around noon. Hopefully we will finally get some surfing in on the trip.

  • The Adventure Begins

Luke, Amelia, and I set off for Maine yesterday. We spent the night at Boyce’s Motel in Stonington, ME. A great little place. We took the Mail Boat over to Isle Au Haut this morning and met up with Alex. Supposed to be stormy today. On the agenda: hiking around, checking out the surf spots, and the Island Volleyball game. Super psyched about the last part. Keep an eye out for more pictures as the days go on.
